Obviously won't eat it frozen but will it be OK? Is there an etticute to this sort of thing.

Duck isn't traditional in the way that turkey or goose is but is often eaten during the festive period.
The frozen bit isn't relevant because no one would know.

The only issue I really see is that duck doesn't feed many people. How many adults are you looking to feed?

I wouldn't worry too much about etiquette unless you are hosting people who are expecting a traditional Xmas dinner. If you are you might want to tell them in advance you are doing duck.

As above turkey or goose is more traditional but it’ll be delicious. One duck barely feeds four of us here, I find there’s less on it than on a chicken somehow but only had one once!

We used to do duck instead of goose if only 3 or so people. I have some duck legs in the freezer as a plan B. It will be fine.

I agree 3 is the maximum number of people you can feed from one duck.
They are very tasty though.
