Obviously won't eat it frozen but will it be OK? Is there an etticute to this sort of thing.

Ok in what sense?

If you like duck and defrost and cook it properly, it will be lovely!

Topbird29 · 13/12/2021 23:47

Have what you want! We had duck last year just the four of us. We find it more tasty than turkey. DS wanted turkey, so just got a small frozen turkey joint, and all had a bit of each.

My duck and goose have been in the freezer since the beginning of November, the same as every year, ready to be defrosted, roasted and eaten at Christmas.
It will be perfectly fine, no different to fresh.

How many do you need to feed? Ducks don’t go far. But it will be lovely!

I don’t think the duck’s ok, no. He’s probably cold in there for a start. And almost certainly dead.

That made me laugh way too much 😂

If there is and 'etiquette' I'm sure the fact that Donald is organic will get you some brownie points....just be sure to leave the packaging somewhere all of your guests are sure to see his organic credentials. I mean obviously, if it was a frozen regular duck you would be cast out of high society never to be heard from again Wink

Most meat can be frozen for around 6 months with no problem if it's properly wrapped.

If our freezer would be bigger I would have our duck already instead of queuing at the butcher to pick it up on the 23rd.

Fleemeister · 14/12/2021 08:04

This is such a MN question! The main thing is, is it an M&S organic duck? Grin

I'm sure it'll be lovely, assuming you're only cooking for a small number.

Don’t be absurd. It’s got to be Waitrose or nothing 🧐

Flee master, wairose only seems to be Gressingham.
My duck is from a specialist organic farm in the west country.

It's the frozen aspect I think I saw worried about? Maybe not as nice as it fresh?

Were having frozen duck br ATS so I hope so

MerylSqueak · 14/12/2021 11:02

I'm wondering this. I've had goose two years in a row. First was fresh and amazing (but expensive). Second was frozen but only nice. I'm wondering if that was the difference.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 14/12/2021 11:25

That's what I'm worried about.

Oh well the die is cast?!
