Decluttering, getting rid of stuff vs feeling wasteful.

I really, really need to reduce the amount of "stuff" in my house. It's starting to get me down. 2 dc so all the stuff that comes with them, and me not being very good at "wasting" things.

I also don't have a lot of money.

I'm really struggling with the best but most effective way to go about this. I have 2 bags in the car to go to a charity shop, but the nearest one is 7 miles away. I've tried selling stuff, some sells, some doesn't. I list it on Olio to give away, some goes, some doesn't. By the time it hasn't sold or been given away I'm tempted to just bin it. Because it's already taken up too much of my time and I could have just binned it to start with. I could go direct to charity shop but ...I'm skint. So I feel like I ought to try and get money back.

I'm terrible at procrastinating, can you tell?

Can anyone help?

I've found a small bag of brand new baby clothes which I've put in the car to give to a friend later

Well done @ImFree2doasiwant!

We are moving imminently and as I'm packing I'm realising we still have a long way to go. We still have so much stuff. I've sorted another bin bag full for the charity shop at least!

Keep going everyone!

I actually handed the clothes over too! That is key -sorting stuff is easy enough, I just need to make sure I get it out of the house!

I think moving is the ideal time for a declutter if you have time to sort as you pack.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor

Don't bin them, donate them. Use clothing banks/charity shops.
It's not clothing or donate-able things; they are easy.

It's plastic tat, hair slides - stuff like that which no charity shop can sell

Yes, that was part of the point of this post, comingbyo terms with binning stuff that can't be sold or donated. Some of us find it hard. I threw away a broken key yesterday,it broke about 10 days ago and was on the side in the kitchen, where it would have stayed for god knows how long if I wasn't on this mission! Ridiculous.
