Patak's korma is my favourite. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. I've never managed to get a palatable meal out of a slow cooker but I think that's me as I've had slow-cooked meals that other people have made that were lovely. I usually add the paste to my onions when I'm sautéing them so that it fries a little bit before I add the liquid, I don't know whether you can do that in a slow cooker.

It should work, but I would put more paste than usual. Something about the slow cooking process loses the flavour whenever I do curry or chilli in the slow cooker

I do it. I use the Patak Spicy Balti paste, a bunch of different chopped veggies, a tin of coconut milk and either chickpeas or some other beans. I put the whole lot on in the morning - usually about 10.00 a.m. and aim to serve at 5.30 p.m.

I've never cooked meat in the slow cooker (vegan family) but I cooked all the veg including a couple of chopped peppers, some What the Cluck fake chicken, the sauce, and coconut milk today and it came out bloody gorgeous. I usually use leftover very whizzed carrot and swede as a base for casseroles/stews/curries - adds flavour and vitamins and uses up the leftovers.

I will admit to using a lot of the spicy balti paste each time but we love the flavour. I get the jars, not the little plastic pots because they're bigger.

I've tried this and it ends up tasting a bit watery. The condensation that drips back into the pot waters the sauce down and it can end up tasting a bit bland.
I would save some of the sauce and then add it just before you serve to liven it up again.

Ooo - be very careful not to add too much liquid. It doesn't reduce at all and there's all that fluid in the veg to take into account. If it is too thin then just mix up some cornflour in a little water and pour it in, or use those thickening granules.

The Schwartz slow cooker packet mix is good. Just add tinned tomatoes, cooked chicken and some cooked new potatoes, it's so easy and it's delicious.

I think I'll hold off and do it when I get home instead. Yet to make anything particularly tasty in the slow cooker!

Dp makes chicken curry with paste in the slow cooker at least once a week, it’s never been watery and always tastes amazing. Once it’s cooked just remove the lid and leave it on to reduce further if it’s too thin
