(And I told DH he had better NOT buy me a new one for Xmas! Grin The year of THE IRONING BOARD has gone down in history)

I have a very floofy shedding dog, several hard floors and several carpeted one. And a bad back.

Ideally I would like cordless, not too heavy but something that can manage a 3 bed house on one go without needing recharging. Needs attachments to do under furniture/side of sofa. Needs to have good suction!

Please recommend me something! My dearly departed was a Shark liftaway which I liked but always fell over when lifted off!

Have you considered a robot vac ?
Plus points
it will cope with hard and carpet floors ,
will fit under most furniture
no bending other than to carry it up / down stairs
it does all the work for you
you can get ones that mop too

minus points
you will still have to vac the stairs ( small cheap 'car' vac will do for
this )

Not sure how it will cope with floofy hounds
not sure how floofy hounds will cope with it Grin

I have a Eufy 11s for a couple of years ( their most basic model ) and love it , I am never going back to a normal vac

I have a Dyson cylinder vacuum and it’s brilliant. Not cordless but a friend of mine has a cordless Dyson and finds the battery life too short for her 3 bed house.

Yummypumpkin · 11/12/2021 20:06

I am Dyson v6 all the way.

On my second (because I gave my old one to my Dad!)

I honestly love hoovering now. And I used to hate it.

And it was a treat and I'm not a gadget person but the difference between it and anything else justifies it.

Dyson every time. The aftercare is brilliant.

We have two Miele Cat and Dog’s, not cordless but brilliant. Reference Eufy, both our Mieles had to go for repair at the same time a few months back. With two dogs, being without a hoover wasn’t an option so we bought an Eufy. It is great but does not get into the corners or do around the edges as efficiently, it just doesn’t. It takes a proper hoover for dog hair!

StillMedusa · 13/12/2021 00:30

Well I didn't have to choose... my lovely neighbour offered me her spare Miele! (she's a retired housekeeper and her dh says she is a vaccum addict Grin )
I can't believe the suction on it.. it nearly lifted my carpets up!
I'd love a Eufy..but I also have a stray-moved-in cat who pukes on the rug with monotonous regularity as he's a greedy git ( he wasn't fed for years til we took him in so has no self control!) and the thought of what a robot vacuum could spread gives me the shudders!!!

I have a Dyson V7 absolute. I'm disabled and vacuuming is quick and literally painless.

Henry! Get a Henry! They are fabulous, will gobble up all dog hair, suck up EVERYTHING and will last for ever.

I adore my Henry and I would not give houseroom to any other type of hoover.

Especially not a dyson. I loathe dysons, and they are rubbish compared to. Henry. Not to mention about 4X the price.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 13/12/2021 05:23

I've just replaced an old bosch with a meile it's so light to push around.
Already it seems great. Miele currently have an offer in hoover bags in thier site

Nat6999 · 13/12/2021 05:30

My mum has just ditched her dyson for the G-Tech AirRam MK2 it is brilliant, she had the original G-Tech that came with the hand held that she still uses on the stairs & to vac things like the sofa but the MK2 gobbles everything like a snow plough.

AwkwardSquad · 13/12/2021 06:39

I vote Miele, they’re excellent and very reliable- although not cordless, our old cat and dog cylinder vacuum is lightweight and v effective

AwkwardSquad · 13/12/2021 06:42

Ps we have a pukey rescue cat with food issues too, she is a joy but it’s horribly easy to trigger her food anxiety!

Ifailed · 13/12/2021 06:47

2nd vote for a Henry.

Bubblecap · 13/12/2021 10:11

I was going to write Miele , see you have had the chance of a test drive. We also have a robot Eufy. DS hoovers the whole house properly with the Miele once a week and the Eufy gets released most days.
