If you’ve had covid then get vaccinated....

I’m going for my first covid jab tomorrow, I had covid last year and have been having blood test intermittently since. Antibodies still in the ‘had covid in last six months range’ (I haven’t, but have been exposed at least twice as my kids got it- I didn't get it again).
Anyway, despite having obviously good natural immunity, and being no ‘risk’ to myself or anyone else, I am going to have to have the jab as otherwise I will lose my job (NHS).
To be honest as well as being angry about having to have a jab I don’t need I’m really worried about how my body (which has been through a lot lately) will react to this jab given my antibody level is already high. How ill I will feel and whether my immune system will totally over react (I have autoimmune disease).
Can anyone who has had the jab after covid advise how they found it?

I'd like to know this too.

DD had her Pfizer jab about 6 weeks after having covid. She was ill the next day and fine after thereafter.

Thanks for replying. I’m not anti vax in any way just can’t face being ill again 😞

Both my DP and I had Covid last year and have had two vaccinations and the booster (Pfizer vax) - with no ill effects other than a sore arm for a couple of days. DD1 has had two vax, then had Covid two weeks ago. Not severely ill when she had it, thanks to the jab.

You can get Covid again so get yourself protected from the worst of it and get the jab.

She said that she just slept it off that day.

I had my booster on Monday (Pfizer after AZ ones) and felt rough on Tuesday. Absolutely fine today.

That long ago, it should be fine. Within a few months, many people get slightly stronger reactions but not everyone does. I usually warn them of that, if it's less than 3 months ago.

I have been vaccinating for nearly 12 months and get to hear a lot of anecdata.

I had my jabs about 1 yr after my first covid infection. I felt a bit bleurgh the next day after the first jab, but no worse than most people I know who had the jab with no prior infection. Second jab was fine.

I’ve subsequently caught covid again and it was like a mild cold.

DS1 had vaccine exactly 28 days after testing positive, so assume he still had high antibody levels. Had slight tenderness at injection site the next day, and only if he prodded it hard. No other side effects at all.

My ex - had Covid April 2020 and was vaccinated Feb 2021 - had a mild headache the next morning which was fine after taking paracetamol.

My sister - had Covid Jan 2021, vaccinated March 2021 - zero side effects at all. She did says she felt a bit tired and achey the day after her second jab, and her arm ached slightly for a couple of days, but nothing that stopped her working her very physical job or caring for her toddlers.

My Dad - had Covid Nov 2020, vaccinated Dec 2020 - had achey arm for a few days, but otherwise actually felt much better than he had in weeks as he'd not fully recovered from Covid yet. He's convinced it gave his body a final push to rid itself of the virus and its effects.

I had Covid in between my first and second jab. No side effects from the vaccine at all apart from a sore arm for a day.

Son had his 2nd jab not long after having Covid. He was fine.

I felt really ill after my first jab but no side effects whatsoever after jabs 2 and 3
