Do you give a 4 year old Christmas pudding?

Just that really. My dd has just turned 4 and I was thinking it would be nice for her to have some Christmas pudding this Christmas. I have checked the ingredients and it has brandy /alcohol listed. She has nut allergies so it's not like all I have to do is find a different one which doesn't have alcohol. I have to make sure they are made in a nut free facility /no risk of cc etc. So, do you give your 4 year old Christmas pudding which has alcohol as an ingredient? Thank you in advance

I have always loved Xmas pudding, even as a tiny child. The amount of alcohol in a commercially bought pudding is very small. It really won't do any harm. A home made one though may have a lot of alcohol in it.

Yes since age of 1. But no allergies.

DS first had it at the age of 3. He had three portions! Both over it again last year at 4 and 3. From their excitement at making it on Stir-Up Sunday 2 weeks ago I hope the enjoyment will continue this year.

I don't see any problem with giving it but my kids don't like it. They have chocolate trifle instead.

I'd let them try some, but doubt they'd like it.

Hell yes. Mind you, I was giving her whisky soaked fruit cake when she was weaning.

Xmas pudding is my DD’s favourite food - she eats it all year round. Not always with brandy butter on top.

DD had a taste last year, she was 15 months. She wasn’t keen but liked the cream.
I’ll offer her a small taste this year too if she wants (27 months).
I wouldn’t hesitate at 4. Assuming they aren’t having a baileys too then a bit of residual alcohol in a pudding is fine.

One of mine loves it, the other hates it. The alcohol content in a couple of spoonfuls of pudding that had most of it cooked off is negligible, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Of course!

My 5 year old and 2 year old both like mince pies, Christmas pudding a day Christmas cake. The alcohol is a small percentage and they only have a small portion.
