Looking for recommendations for a family (mostly adults) quiz type game that is suitable for teens / parents / grandparents.

Not sure my in-laws or younger teens would cope with the likes of Cards Against Humanity and really looking for more of a trivia / quiz game that isn’t Trivial Pursuit.

Please help make my Boxing Day more interesting!Grin

Shot in the Dark
Logo game
Sussed

Or there is a family version off Cards Against Humanity

What about cranium? Mixture of drawing, answering questions, charades. You play in teams. Or pictionary?
We bought colour brain for my parents last year, the kids have played it with them so must be family friendly.

Our multi - generational group used to play charades for hours. We also used to collect photos of celebrities when they were younger and post those up - leads to lots of chat. Why not play Beetle - its fast and fun for all ages.

We usually play the QI board game with our young adult children and their partners

Kids against maturity, the family version of cards against humanity- my dad can cope with it although there is a lot of toilet humour in it but that is up his Street! Ticket to ride junior version or junior versions of cluedo or monopoly. Pit is good for all ages or dibble, which you can get in different versions of your family had any particular interests. Even simple things like pictionary can speak to all ages and need no specific board game just praper and pens or if you have any play dough in the house could do a positive version of pictionary.

Pictionary. Need a lot of players, but the last time we played it my son laughed so hard he got a nose bleed and my father wept real tears of mirth.

Team charades.

Spoons.

We like Cranium and Tension here

We got the Richard Osman House of Games last year, that went down well. Just a shame you can't do a proper answer smash at the end Grin

Balderdash (everyone makes up plausible definitions for an obscure word and you each pick which you think is right). My parents like it as you don't need to sit round a board, it's peaceful and easy to chat or have a tea break during it.

But also that my teens are highly amused by my father's formulaic insert . I hate playing when my husband's around as he has an uncanny ability to spot my overly pretentious definitions.

HairyFanjoBanjo · 05/12/2021 12:52

My father is awful at charades and gets so flustered Wink

Ooh, great thread.
I love Linkee, Balderdash, Cranium, Articulate and Rapidough!

fpurplea · 05/12/2021 21:01

Yup, Rapidough and Articulate!

bravotango · 05/12/2021 21:04

Articulate is good, a recent hit at a multi-generational was Telestrations
