Dental pain and no appointments

I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and in really bad dental pain (which I can't take anything for), I rang my dentist first thing and they basically said no urgent appointments left and that was it. I can't deal with this all weekend I can't even eat with the pain.

Only looks like an out of hours dental service may be available through the local Hospital but no guarantees from 7pm tonight.

I used clove oil and baby teething gel when I was pregnant with a tooth infection. Clove oil is antibacterial and dentists actually use it sometimes themselves. It taste rank but does numb the pain. The teething gel is numbing too and at a low dose so can use in pregnancy ( at least I was advised I could a few years ago!)

You can take paracetamol, as well.

Hi OP - the NHS website has got some information that might help you.

A colleague of mine had a similar predicament ealier this year. She searched online for 'emergency dentist + county name' and she said there were quite a few of them offering same-day appointments. I think the place she went to cost £45.

It's been a very long time since I was pregnant. I was told that paracetamol was ok to take. You could phone a pharmacy just to double-check if/what painkillers you can take while pregnant. Maybe something like Oragel would help? It works really well for my DS when his wisdom teeth are having a push.

I hope you get it sorted Flowers

When I couldn’t get an appointment I phoned my doctors. They gave me some antibiotics until I could get to the dentist. The doctor said he often has to do this.
