I think it’s just in the ok bmi category?

Nowomenaroundeh · 02/12/2021 17:03

It seems a little on the heavy side but depends on her build.

Bells3032 · 02/12/2021 17:06

BMI is 24.7 so not overweight

ApolloandDaphne · 02/12/2021 17:06

I am 5'6" and 11 stone is my current goal weight as I am dieting. That takes me from obese into the overweight category. I suspect the young woman (not girl) is slightly overweight but it really depends on her build and muscle tone.

freezingtoes12 · 02/12/2021 17:10

I really hate this types of posts. My friend is shorter and 11 stone but filled with muscle, she is most certainly not overweight. I powerlift, I am heavier as a result but toned and defined. It is entirely dependent on your build.

Go to a doctor if concerned.

This is me. I'm naturally curvy, had large bosoms since a teen etc. BMI is under the 25 it should be but not by much and at a recent health-check the doctor did say I could do with losing a few pounds to take me down into safer territory eg 10.5 stone

Why would anyone go to the doctor if they thought they were a bit overweight? They either think they are and try to lose weight or they think they are fine and crack on with life. The doctor is unlikely to do anything.

It's borderline. Bmi depends on build, muscle mass etc, not an exact science! Eyes, tape measures etc are just as good gauges. I'm her height and would love to be 11 stone, but generally middle aged mums weigh more than youngsters. My dd is shorter and weighs more than 11 stone, she plays semi pro rugby

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 02/12/2021 17:16

It's within the healthy range for 5'6, so not overweight.

MrsPear · 02/12/2021 17:16

Oh lord that type of mother?!

Go on the nhs bmi calculator and check

Xiaoxiong · 02/12/2021 17:37

Depends entirely on fitness levels/body composition as it's borderline on BMI. I'm that height and 11st with a small frame, and my health would benefit if I lost a stone. I know someone 10 years younger than me, super fit, plays rugby, my height and 12st and she is solid as a rock.

Mamaof2males · 02/12/2021 17:40

BMI was created at a time when hospitals gave patients cocaine for goodness sake many many years ago! It’s out dated and not an accurate measurement of anything these days. It drives me mad.

From OPs posting history - you have a 3 month old baby, please be kind to yourself. Get past the new born stage, settle into motherhood. I hope you're okay.

Do you have real life support, your Mum or good friends to lean on? You sound so tired, coping with a new baby as a single parent is so draining.

It's fine, and with the additional info of being 3 month post partum please give yourself a break and try not to worry about your weight. Eat healthy food if you can, but mainly food that makes you feel happy and good about and in yourself. You just need to look after yourself at this stage Thanks

Atla · 02/12/2021 20:42

You have a 3 month old baby?! Totally normal. The weight will come off - slowly but surely. Flowers

I'm 5ft 8, so a bit taller than you - at your age I always felt best at about 9 1/2 to 10 stone, but at over 40, I'd love to get down to 11 at again.

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/12/2021 20:48

The fact you didn't mention being post party min your OP sounds like you're judging yourself. Or someone else is.

If it's you, be kinder to yourself. Someone else, tell them to get to fuck.

Thanks
