Pfizer Covid vaccine...can anyone help me with this?

Before I start this is NOT a scaremongering post so please don’t interpret it as one. I’m honestly hoping someone more knowledgable can help me with more information.

I’m in my 40’s, healthy weight/BMI, no health issues. I had my first Pfizer jab and felt fine apart from really tired for a few days. About two weeks after jab I started getting random pains in my fingers and could literally watch a segment of my finger turn purple, like I had knocked it and a big bruise was under the skin. Each time I struggled to bend my finger for a couple of days until the ‘bruise’ went. I spoke to my GP, he immediately started talking about auto immune disease, rare but potential side effects of vaccine etc. I had a blood test, nothing detected. GP told me it sounded like small blood clots and as long as I’m only getting them in my hands he wasn’t ‘too worried’. He went on to tell me if I start noticing them in my legs or torso to go straight to A&E so they can see them. I had one more on my hand and then the bruises’ stopped appearing.

Ive never suffered with any vascular conditions before and now I’m scared to have my next vaccine. I am aware of the risks of catching Covid and want to have my second jab but I’m also scared to.

Has anyone experienced this after the Covid vaccine? Does anyone know anything about this rate but potential side effect.

Thank you.

A friend of mine had this, except in her legs. The doctor said it was an autoimmune response. It flared up and went away over a few weeks, she had some a few courses of pretty strong steroids and is back to normal now.

I don’t know about it in relation to the vaccine but it sounds like achenbach syndrome? I get it occasionally, I notice it sometimes comes on after exercise so assumed it’s when extra blood is pumping and it’s like a burst blood vessel. It’s painful and annoying but as far as I’m aware not particularly worrying.

I think there are lots of odd reactions coming up after the vaccines. I had really intense spots of pain in my lower legs after Pfizer (of course I started panicking about clotting) and they’ve only just stopped, plus menstrual changes, so I’m not overly keen to have the booster either!

Have a different booster if you're worried. You can mix and match.

What did your finger feel like after the blue bruise? I have achenbachs and mine feel itchy to start with then painful.

Agree with PP suggestion about Moderna for the next one

Also forgot to add that achenbachs is most common in women age 40 + I believe so it could be coincidental. I think something like 80% of cases are in women. Probably why they know little about it! I’ve never found a particular trigger for it. Possibly hormonal.
