How to prove title change?

Finance company for car PCP want proof I've changed my title from Mrs to Ms. How do I prove this?

This is the text I've got

'Hello, my name is D from Ev Funding Ltd. We are currently processing your finance agreement for vehicle ...... Due to your application being in the name Ms Wilko and your driving licence being Miss Kenny - we require a proof of title change - Wilko can be in the form of a marriage certificate/deed poll certificate.A secure link will be sent that you can use to provide this.Thank you'

What's my marriage certificate got to do with the use of 'Ms'? They seem happy that I'm a Wilko But want confirmation of the use of Ms? My driving licence says Wilko (my maiden name)

Can you not just change the application to Miss
Sounds like a hassle to prove something that's unprovable. You don't need to get married or divorced to change from Miss to Ms. Ridiculous!

Oops, missed that your ID doesn't match the application either

It's not really about the change in title but will be more to do with the change of surname. You need to provide paperwork to show how your surname went from one name to the other

What pixie said - you just need evidence to account for the surname variation (marriage certificate does this as it shows both old and new surnames)

Thank you! A bit sleep deprived and didn't realise the actual text suggested a marriage certificate Grin

Thanks again!

Glad you've got it sorted, but Ms/Miss/Mrs have no legal status. You can choose how you like to be addressed. They're all abbreviations of the same old-fashioned word, 'Mistress' which means 'adult woman deserving of respect'.

Change of surname is obviously rather different, but I go by two names, single (professional) and married (rarely, but sometimes) and it's never caused any insurmountable problems.
