I need 25 x cheap (50p!) presents

I’m retiring as Cub leader after many years. I’d like to get my Cubs a small leaving gift, but there are 25 of them and it’s a pricey time of year! No Tiger or IKEA nearby. I keep
Coming back to candy canes, but would like something more permanent

I know… it’s moon on a stick territory.

If you could stretch to about £1 you could get them an extendable toasting fork.
FANSIR Barbecue Forks Set of 8 Marshmallow Roasting Sticks Extendable Stainless Steel 32 Inch U Shape Hot Dog Fork with Wooden Handle Grilling Skewers for Camping Campfire Party Picnic Meal Buffet www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07V2XPWPJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KNA88A45SGZNPG59YMQ6?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I’ve also seen on the scout store little plant your own Christmas tree seeds.

Goawayquickly · 30/11/2021 16:34

Literally 50p? I'm thinking about multi packs of things like pens you could split.

mdh2020 · 30/11/2021 16:36

Go to Poundland? You could give them all a pencil or probably a set of them. Or a pencil and a notebook.

Maybe metal drinking straws ? Not sure if you can get them for 50p though - that’s a really small budget when a Mars bar costs more

Chakraleaf · 30/11/2021 16:36

I like the marshmallow stick idea

Breathmiller · 30/11/2021 16:36

What about friendship bracelets?
I got ones from Baker Ross to put in my 10 year old son's party bag this year and they went down well.

BingoandBluey · 30/11/2021 16:36

Could you get a multipack of eg wooden spoons from Amazon and all paint and decorate them together as an activity where they get to bring something home from it?

WisestIsShe · 30/11/2021 16:37

Some kind of badge?

That is an excellent idea. I have a 10 year old who will happily knock up friendship bracelets!

Just looked on eBay and you can buy multipacks of bookmarks if that would work?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/11/2021 16:41

I was going to get them all the Christmas camp blanket badge, but at £1.50 each that’s a big chunk of cash especially after the hours of blood sweat and tears I have dedicated

Just get them a chocolate Santa from Lidl or Aldi.

TinselTitsAndGlitteryBits · 30/11/2021 16:47

I don't think you're going to get much of a meaningful present with a budget of just 50p (although I understand why you've said that much!)

I agree with the idea of a chocolate Santa or something along those lines.

Asda do marshmallow Christmas lollipops for about 60p.

Something along those lines.

LubaLuca · 30/11/2021 16:50

The handmade friendship bracelet is the best idea on that budget. Anything to buy for that much is meaningless.

GertrudeBElion · 30/11/2021 16:50

At 50p each anything non edible is basically tat, and not likely to be a long time memento.
Could you put the £12 into some nice food bits and have a nice little party?

GertrudeBElion · 30/11/2021 16:51

Nice twice Blush

OzziePopPop · 30/11/2021 16:51

I bought jars of (huge) lollipops in bulk for about £10 for 30. They’re all natural colours and flavours and there was a mint or Christmas pudding flavour option! DHs cubs love them and have asked for them again. I’ve also done Christmas stickers and pencils in bulk from Amazon etc in previous years, also v popular.

girlmom21 · 30/11/2021 16:52

Friendship bracelets are a lovely idea!

user1471538283 · 30/11/2021 16:52

They could all have their name on the next Mars Rover and you get a certificate you can print. Getting the name on is free! Then a big box of chocolates to share?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/11/2021 17:04

Actually, @WisestIsShe llives up to her name!

I have found a selection pack of woven patches on Amazon that works perfectly. No scout branded or anything, but something tiny they can see on their camp blankets and go towards their Skills challenge badge if they ever get to go camping again.

Awesome, even without the chocolate!

Look up wish bracelets online. I just paid £13 for 60. They're just a little charm on a piece of string and attached to a small card with w poem. You could probably make them really easily too.
