GP & Christmas

I've posted before about how much time and respect I have for my GP surgery. Despite all the challenges of the past 2 years, they have always been there for me when I needed them and have always delivered exceptional care with a smile.
I would like to send my GP & the surgery team (including the lovely receptionists) a little treat for Christmas.
Any ideas?

Any GPs/medical staff on here who can speak from experience as to what would/would not be a good idea? I'm open to any ideas! Currently I am thinking of some large sharing boxes of chocolates (the usual Christmas goodies), biscuits, or maybe even a hamper of fresh fruit in case everyone is a bit chocolated-out by now 😁

Grateful for any suggestions thank you :)

Tubs of chocolates (celebrations/roses) are always gratefully received as they are individually wrapped & there is enough for everyone to have one & feel appreciated.

A lovely written note/card with it is always well received & pinned up on the staff notice board.

Do they have any funds you can make a donation to which would be an idea. Like an equipment fund to buy items forvthe surgery.

I’m not a doctor, but I work at a GP surgery. A lovely card with a kind message is always best received… but tubs of roses/celebrations etc are a very close second Grin

The practice buys everything they use equipment wise, they really aren’t strapped for cash.

“Here’s some cash towards a sphygmomanometer” really isn’t a great ‘thank you’ for the hard working staff tbh Wink

Personal messages of thanks in a card - ask for it to be shared with all staff.
Tubs of chocs so people can help themselves.

Dh is a GP (on his day off sitting beside me now) and he says BISCUITS! He also needs to go on a diet Smile

And a lovely thank you note is much appreciated and can be used by staff in their annual appraisals too.

I'm glad to hear your surgery has been great. Dh gets similar feedback, and it's nice to see that appreciated with all the bad press there is!

Ahh we get lots of biscuits and chocolates at Christmas time, and they’re always very appreciated. They get put away and then brought out regularly so we always have nice biscuits, and don’t have to buy them out of our tea fund so it lowers our monthly contribution.

A personal card is great, and a positive feedback on the NHS choices website is even better as the CCG take them on board!

Otherwise we all love chocolates, biscuits, fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, squash, pastries, cakes etc. Primary care staff are an army that march on their stomachs!

Thank you all for the suggestions! I've been to the shops tonight and bought some boxes of biscuits to take to the surgery in the morning. I will also write a little card addressed to the whole practice thanking them for everything they've done for me this year - I'm sure working in a GP surgery can be a bit of a thankless job at times, so I really hope this brightens their day even if just a tiny bit :)

At my surgery, we keep aside all boxes of chocolates/bottles of wine given to the surgery in December and then do a little raffle at the end so everyone gets one to take home for Christmas. If we have too many, they get opened up and shared as we go.

Edible gifts are always appreciated 😊
