Things that have increased in price over the pandemic

Which I realise also incorporates Brexit

Things have noticed:

  • Beer now seems to be £6 or £6.5 in many pubs in London and the SE. About £4.50/£5 in the same places before. Yes I know I don't need to buy beer.
  • My haircut that used to cost £40 is now £53. Yes I know I could get it cheaper elsewhere but similar relative increases have been seen everywhere
  • I just phoned to make a hygienist appointment. £50 before, now £89 and payable in advance! I suppose I don't "need" to do that either but the dentist says I do.
  • "Cheap" petrol £1.47

I know that there's been a gradual creep on all sorts of things, but which have stuck you most?

Petrol, gas and elec, food
Gym membership
Hair - I usually pay £110 for cut and balayage, my hairdresser charged me £190 a couple of months ago without batting an eyelid!
My cleaner, sons tutor, man who cleans my windows have all increased their fees which I can understand in the face of the above

Gas, electric and food.
As a pp said I've noticed that some of the cheaper, own brand items just aren't stocked now so it's expensive or not at all.
I have cut down the hours we have the heating on, and am forever turning lights off and wearing extra clothes to make sure it lasts to the end of the month, and I've put extra on to what I would normally already. I'm obsessed with the electric smart meter - though at least it provides a bit of light too!
It's making for a bit of a miserable existence sometimes to be honest.
