How to transport tired 4 year old?

DS who is 4 and petite is very tired at the end of the school day and can’t manage the walk home (25 mins for an adult).

I don’t think he’d agree to go in the old buggy although he’s quite petite so would fit.

Any genius products that he can ride and I can push him along without him feeling like a baby? Like the trikes with handles that toddlers have but a bit more grown up?

A trebuchet, but best to have someone at the receiving end to catch them, or at least some pillows.

A buggy board , even if the pushchair is otherwise empty ?

Thanks for all the tips, I’m going through them now!

I can’t really carry him (bad back). I do think manufacturers are missing a trick here, so many little kids still need something like a buggy sometimes.

Cargo bike, bike with trailer or bike with pull along (extra seat, extra wheel) attached are all options In see a lot here.

I use a scooter for my 5 year old who still can't manage the walk. I'm short and have adjusted the handlebar so I can comfortably pull it along by my side without having to bend down. He just stands and holds on to the handlebar. And if he feels like it, he can scooter along himself. Added bonus is a basket on the front to carry snacks or other bits & bobs on the way home.

I think infant schools are missing a trick here. They could put an adjustable one at the gates and just point it in the right direction for each child.

Scooter.. They can scoot part of the way and then get pulled along.

I use a scooter and strap. Had to upgrade from her peppa scooter to a proper mini micro scooter as the way it leans means you can steer it with the strap
