Not sure if I should just see how it goes or go this evening.

My baby is 10 months old and was in hospital on oxygen a month ago with RSV/bronchiolitis.

He really picked up and has been okay for the last couple of weeks but he caught a cold a few days ago and it's just gone straight to his chest again. His breathing is crackly again like last time and he is very sleepy. His temp is 38, will drop down slightly after Calpol but then straight back up again after a couple of hours.

With him being in hospital with low oxygen levels so recently I'm panicking.

Wwyd? Do I just see how he is overnight or take him tonight?

(Ps. Done a Covid test already which was negative).

I’d take him in just to be on the safe side.

Aquamarine1029 · 27/11/2021 16:57

I would have him seen immediately. I wouldn't take any chances with a baby.

Definitely go. Best to get him checked out.

No messing around with a babies breathing op.
Take him in Thanks

GraciousHey · 27/11/2021 16:59

Thanks, you're all telling me what I already know deep down. It was so scary last time that I wondered if I may be overreacting our of panic but no point messing around.

If you’re worried, take him in. They’ll be happy to see him.

SheWoreYellow · 27/11/2021 16:59

Temp coming down with calpol is good, but the very sleepy would be a cause for concern I think.

HollowTalk · 27/11/2021 17:00

I think you're right to take him. Far better to take him now and catch it early.

DownWhichOfLate · 27/11/2021 17:10

Take him in. I had similar with one of mine. Took him in and he perked up as soon as the doctor came to see him. But always better to be over cautious. Good luck.
