Is there an app for keeping track of what's in fridge?

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone knows any apps which enable you to keep track of the food that's in your cupboards and fridge? I'm always loosing track and it would be great for when I go shopping!

Thank you

I have wanted an app like this for ages! I always forget what is in the fridge and find it hard to work out what to cook (especially when I am out at work all day and can't open the fridge)

Plan your weeks meals. Look in fridge/freezer/pantry to see what you have/need. Add to online shop.

Think about breakfast and lunch items, snack items, basics. See what you have/need. Add to online shop.

When you say you lose track, what do you mean?

I do things slightly differently to you. I never run out of things. I always have a spare: washing up liquid, shampoo. I have 4 tinned tomatoes, 2 chickpeas, 1 coconut milk. As soon as I use it, it goes on the shopping list so I'm never without.

I have a list of what's in the freezer.
Thus I can make any dish. Could you re-arrange it that way round?

Do all the "only buy what you need for your meal plan" actually live like that? No multipacks? No multibuy special offers? Only buying rice and pasta and sugar and flour loose in small quantities? Planning your children's fruit consumption down to a daily ration?

Or do you actually, like the rest of us, have spare tins of tomatoes, a variable number of eggs and apples, an unfinished bottle of milk and half empty packs of rice and raisins and pasta and golden syrup, which you keep track of in some way?

I went looking for that ADHD fridge tiktok and I don't think it would work for me, but I did find this magnet system which I really like.

Daisy I love that idea, the visual on the outside of the fridge makes so much sense to me.

@MackenCheese

I need an app to tell me when my teenage ds has eaten my hidden treats in the fridge!
Hide them in the bottom of the vegetable drawer, they never look there.

@BertieBotts idea of having a tablet in the kitchen for this is a genius idea. I've got a fire that I got for my birthday last year that I never use and am going to try some of the app suggestions on there.

I agree there is no need for the snark from the perfectly organised lot. Anything that makes life easier for people is a good thing.

Plus a sporadic review of the freezer. Which prompts a 'let's use that and this up'.

And an occasional asking teen ds's what they want and then realising we do already have a bag of spag Bol and also a bag of meatballs in the freezer.

The NoWaste app. You can add/scan food as it goes in and out, use by dates, have different sections (fridge/freezer). It will tell you what’s about to go out of date and you can even count the cost of wasted food.

The free version is quite generous so you can give it a go before deciding on a subscription, which allows you to add more cupboards etc

@DaisyWaldron I LOVE that magnet idea and my daughter would love it too which is a major bonus! Great find.
