Buying medication online

Has anyone done it? I'm after getting in a stock if something that my GP is reluctant to prescribe, but I'm not sure it's completely legit. Is the advice to stick to known brands, Supedrug, Boots etc? I can see some companies are much cheaper, but would worry they aren't legitimate.
Does anyone buy prescription medicines online and have any advice for a complete novice?

If your doctor isnt happy to prescribe it then there is a reason for that. Do not self medicate.

I used the boots online service the other day. Surprisingly straightforward just make sure you have a bill or photo if on you. Only complaint was it said that prescription would take 24 hours needed up being 3 working days. However it did say if you've not heard anything within 24hrs give your local boots a call. But it wasn't urgent so didn't

I do it all the time from various online pharmacies. Make sure they're a registered U.K. pharmacy, the details will be on the website.

The legit ones will ask you a series of questions about your health and some also ask you to upload ID (driving license or passport).

Happy to answer any questions!

I use Pharmacy 2U. Absolutely no problems at all & comes really quickly. They even send you reminders to get your next order in

@makelovenotpetrol doctors aren’t gods. You know yourself and your body and mind better than anyone else. If you’ve done your research, and we’re not talking anything ridiculous or addictive here, OP has every right to buy medication from a reputable online pharmacy in the UK!

I've used The Online Clinic and it's been good.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/11/2021 21:05

Why is your GP reluctant?

FrankiesKnuckle · 18/11/2021 21:06

What is the medication?

MorrisZapp · 18/11/2021 21:09

They won't prescribe zopiclone

Blahdyblahbla · 18/11/2021 21:22

Thanks for all the helpful devices, I am definitely going to give it a go.

The medication is aciclover, GP thinks coldsores are no bug issue, I think if there's there's medication available to massively reduce an outbreak then why not take it.

My DS gets that for cold sores

She get 3 months worth for about 45 I think
I’ve used pharmacia and DR Fox and Health Express over the years for Cystitis
Perfectly legit
When I get it I want it treated straight away not wait in agony for my doctor to prescribe it when I know exactly what I want and need

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/11/2021 01:03

Sorry to be that person but have you tried lysine?

Blahdyblahbla · 19/11/2021 07:52

@MrsTerryPratchett I take it daily, and I think it has possibly reduced the frequency of outbreaks, bit when I get a coldsore it doesn't seem to reduce the severity, it'll still be 10 days +, will sometimes spread etc. Aciclover seems to zap them within 48 hours.
