If you were planning to have another baby in the future? Or are they a bit too rough?

Would you still keep clothes that look like this?

I would keep. Because my kids clothes get wrecked painting, vomiting, eating, dribbling etc etc. So even if you think it's not "good" it will be good for something....

Returnoftheowl · 16/11/2021 13:02

I'd think keep, kids are good at ruining clothes, keep some that they can be messy in!

Dragonfire282 · 16/11/2021 13:05

I'd get rid but I've got 'issues', always fear being judged so my DC have always had new and I've throw stuff out as soon as they get grubby.

minipie · 16/11/2021 13:06

For a baby who won’t care, yes definitely

Probably not for a 4 plus year old who may notice and care (or their friends might)

IWentAwayIStayedAway · 16/11/2021 13:08

I'd keep

imisscashmere · 16/11/2021 13:34

Of course! If you don’t think they’re “good enough” any more, keep them for messy activities :)

Nearlytheretrees · 16/11/2021 13:44

I would keep for at home, messy play or under jumpers

Asmadasahatter · 16/11/2021 13:49

I wouldn’t keep
Maybe just for a pic if it used to belong to older sibling or such
But I might be a weirdo, I’m pregnant and my mil and husband want us to reuse my husbands clothes from when he was a baby and I’m adamant not to so maybe I’m unreasonable

SirenSays · 16/11/2021 13:58

I'd keep them but we're a jumping in puddles, making mud pies kind of household.

DGFB · 16/11/2021 14:00

I keep almost everything but not things that are stained

Angel2702 · 16/11/2021 14:08

I’d Keep, most stains on kids clothes come out in the sun. If not we used to always need messy play clothes.

Theyellowflamingo · 16/11/2021 14:24

No because if the neck looks that yellow stained now it'll probably be worse after a year or two in storage. I don’t immediately throw out stained clothes eg a pen mark on uniform, and I kept lots of things between my children, but I wouldn’t personally keep something stained in storage for another baby. It would be a duster in this household.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 16/11/2021 14:24

Yes definitely, I’ve kept things in far worse condition. Fine for under a jumper or a messy play session.

Hercisback · 16/11/2021 14:29

Keep, for nursery, messy play or under stuff.

MarmitesMyMate · 16/11/2021 14:30

No I wouldn't but I'm fussy I wouldn't even put on my dc the second there's a mark :/ but that's issues i have like a PP said I'd feel judged. Which is silly.
Where as me, I wear clothes older than my dcs.. That have seen better days but that doesn't bother me what ppl think

PrimeraVez · 16/11/2021 14:30

Depends how much storage space you have and how long you would need to need to store it for before it would be worn again.

SpacePotato · 16/11/2021 14:33

I've kept many clothes that have gone through several children but not with milk stains on the neck.

SandysMam · 16/11/2021 14:35

In relation to people saying they feel judged if not in brand new, I’ve actually noticed over the years that upper middle class and middle class children are often in hand me downs or look slightly scruffier where as some of the poorer mums have immaculate clothing, often designer. I think when you feel secure in yourself, you don’t worry about things like this. Just an observation!

JachFrost · 16/11/2021 14:36

I'm more inclined to judge people who would get rid of marked clothing than put their child in that. Also, it's cute!

BertieBotts · 16/11/2021 14:38

Yes, What's wrong with it? Confused

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 16/11/2021 14:38

If its just the white looking a bit grey, have you tried a laundry whitener?

BertieBotts · 16/11/2021 14:39

Ah the milk stains on the neck - those develop in storage. Just wash them with some stain remover spray and dry in the sun, they will disappear (even if it's cloudy).

JunoMcDuff · 16/11/2021 15:15

Yes mainly for nursery.

Dragonfire282 · 16/11/2021 15:22

SandysMam You're right, my brother and his wife are very middle class, lots of disposable income. Their DC look like they've been dragged through hedges, unwashed faces, crazy hair, dirty, grubby clothes. Oh it's all so jolly and no one would bat an eye lid. DH and I are working class, minimum wage and if I turned my DC out looking like that I'm sure people would think we're not coping/can't afford to clothe them etc so my DC are always immaculate (except for when they're coming back from the park covered in mud). That's not to say that everything is brand new, I get all of my stuff from vinted and a lot of theirs too but it's all clean, good quality, almost new.

StandardPoodle · 16/11/2021 17:11

Absolutely keep it. DS2 had hand-me-downs from DS1 until he was old enough to feel it was an issue.
