I am so tired now. After moving house i am sleeping even less due to the way the house is laid out.

I wake up at the slightest noise. I can sleep through with headphones and white noise but they fall out and hurt my ears when sleeping on them.

I want to try one of those headband ear phone night sleeping bands. But want to get a good one. Does anyone have one they can recommend. they have to be comfortable. And not having anything digging in my head.

I have one like this that I mostly use for running but have also worn over earplugs at noisy campsites and it's very comfy and effective. If you are super sensitive be aware that it will probably slip as you turn your head through the night though.

There are only two main types. One has a blue front switch and hard speakers and one has a brown switch and foam speakers. Get the second kind.
The volume switch is really annoying so you have to use the phone volume button so just keep it nearby.

My DH uses one, he swears by it. He often wakes in the middle of the night, fumbles to switch on a podcast or audio book, and soon drifts off again. He's not a light sleeper though, so not sure in that respect.

Yes it's amazing. The only thing is with mine there is a blue flashy light which is really annoying. But you can turn it around inside and it stops it flashing. Def worth having!

What exactly is waking you up? Why not play white noise through speakers instead?

nerdsville · 15/11/2021 22:31

I've got the same ones as SkippettyDoDah posted and they're great. An added bonus is that it's wide enough to pull down over your eyes so it doubles up as a sleep mask (so I don't even notice the stupid blue light!)

It is never on my head when I wake up though, so as pp said if you're such a light sleeper that you'd be sensitive to it moving around your face and head while you're asleep then it might not work as well for you.

My other preferred option is these which are actually really comfy to sleep in if you put the smallest of the plasticy things on (the squishy bit that goes in your ear - you get 3 sizes in the pack). They sell them in tesco for a fiver but I actually spotted them in TK Maxx for £2.99 yesterday and stocked up on a few pairs!

Omg GAME CHANGER!
I absolutely love my head band. Best £16 I've ever spent. I pop it on, pit my audible on, with a 15mins sleep timer and off I go.
Ass PP said, you can slide it down for an eye mask if needed.
I got mine from amazon. Its been going for 2 years.

I play storms and rain on my alexa. Im a good sleeper but when my B12 levels fall i become restless. I wear earplugs every night but DH is a snorter/heavy breather😡 which often wakes me.

Love the rain sounds, goodness why I play it living in Wales 💦💦💦

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 16/11/2021 11:08

@OhDearWhyAmIFatterly which one do you have.

I can't see the exact one but they are all pretty similar...

Those are the ones with hard speakers - they all have exactly the same speaker bit.

amicissimma · 17/11/2021 15:21

I have Sleepphones. They come in wired or wireless. They are really comfy and I haven't strangled myself in the wire yet (bought mine years ago before wireless was a thing).

As I have to have the white noise fairly loud to cover the sound of my DH landing Jumbo jets beside me snoring, I also use soft ear plugs just so that I'm not blasting white noise straight into my ears every night. DH's racket is drowned but I wake up if there is an emergency sound, like a fire alarm.

drspouse · 17/11/2021 16:58

@amicissimma what do the buttons do on those ones? The volume button on the ones I have/the main ones available is not that easy to use (you have to hold down hard for volume, so you can't adjust it that well).
