Looking for a joint present for my In-Laws, late 60's, retired, no hobbies or specific interests.. they honestly have everything! And anything they need, they buy 🤷‍♀️

Last Year I made a bespoke Hamper which was received OK...

£50 Budget, Suggestions welcome please!

Dressing gowns
A meal out somewhere special like wowcher do or maybe 2 for 1 theatre tickets (check experience days)

Could you up your budget a bit enough for a weekend away maybe or an over night stay somewhere? There are some fab buy one get one frees on red letter days or virgin days might be worth a look there first or check out IWOOT and not on the high street for some different ideas.

What has your partner chosen?

TulipsTwoLips · 15/11/2021 17:13

Ah sorry, just realised you might mean joint as in both of them, not joint as in from both of us!

Whatever my husband chooses for his parents!

mogkat · 15/11/2021 17:19

I find the inlaws hard to buy for too. Doesn't help my MiL's birthday is also on Christmas Day!

They also have everything and say they don't want anything and have no hobbies etc.

In the past we have bought vouchers for afternoon tea, restaurant/pub vouchers for a meal out, theatre tickets etc.

Anoisagusaris · 15/11/2021 17:23

What are you getting your own parents?

RedHot22 · 15/11/2021 17:24

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee

Whatever my husband chooses for his parents!
Yep! And buys
FlowerArranger · 15/11/2021 17:26

Please, for the sake of our planet, make it something consumable. Another hamper, some plant bulbs/seeds etc. Or just a nice compilation of photos of the grandchildren.

How old are your children? Can they do something creative? I'm currently making photo frames and mirrors, using seashells, with my granddaughter, for her to give to her mum and other relatives. A nicely framed collage of pressed autumn leaves interspersed with photos might be another option.

Dh gets his parent vouchers (which is what they want).

I'm thinking of getting my lot a load of nice cheese with lots of posh crackers and pickles etc. They don't like clutter so it always has to be something consumable.

mindutopia · 15/11/2021 17:31

No idea as we each sort presents for our own families. Usually dh does a hamper though (MIL also often gets us a hamper), which we both are happy with.

southlondoner02 · 15/11/2021 17:36

Coffee subscription from PACT coffee. Consumables seem a good way to go if they have everything

DobbleDobble · 15/11/2021 17:38

Theatre tickets? Matinees in week are cheap

Sn0tnose · 15/11/2021 18:35

DH has bought an experience and chocolate for his dad. He has got his mum her favourite perfume, her favourite chocolates and a large framed print of a photo.
