How to cheer myself up on my birthday

No ones bothered to message or say happy birthday.

How can I cheer myself up and just make today a little different and special?

Happiest of birthdays! Do you like swimming? Could you take yourself off to a fancy heated lido / spa tomorrow and treat yourself?
Failing that, a brisk walk somewhere beautiful, followed by cake, followed by reading a good book in the bath with a glass of wine.

Smacks of desperation.

Gives the power to other people.

Sets the sender up for disappointment.

Any invitation would need to be sent in advance, and would need to give a specific time and date. No one’s going to turn their attention to going out this afternoon, or even tomorrow, at such short notice.

(Obviously that might work with your friends, but the OP doesn’t seem to have that sort of relationship with hers.)

Happy birthday! It's mine as well today. I will be going out to a nice restaurant this evening, I've had too many birthdays doing FA and expected to make an effort for everybody else's. Treat yourself to something nice, it's better to buy what you like than receive gifted crap you don't want.

Pls don't let anybody ruin your special day!
