Hi everyone , so I'm in my mid 20's , weight has always fluctuated mainly down to poor habits and depression. I am looking to make a positive step towards weightloss and wanted to know any good genuine plans that worked for you or any exercise routines. I'm a recent graduate, can't afford the gyms in my area at their prices, 15stone 5ft 7 , Ive tried vegan and keto before both which worked very well but left me feeling starving, I was 11st and a size 10/12 until I was 20 then getting pregnant twice and 2 m/C's made me gain and unfortunately bad habits and mental health haven't helped. I've tried to kick the weight before last like 3 months then struggle so need genuine advice, I dropped down to 13.5st in the summer but put it back on during moving home ect , please help, I think advice would help others too , thanks

I've had weight issues all my life. I've discovered Team RH 2 months ago and have made steady losses. Have a look at their programme to see if you think it could work for you. Warning though - he's pretty direct and swears a lot

Thanks for the tip, I don't mind swearing and bluntness, I need it if anything as I have no self control with food and exercise. x

I think the thing you really need to address is what is going on in your head. You could do a million different diet and weight loss plans but as long as your mental health is the way it is, it will not work.

So I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but I'd recommend taking the focus off your body and your weight completely, and focus on your mind, and how you can help yourself there. It sounds a bit cliche these days, but mindfulness, meditation, a bit of yoga, some counselling if you can access it to talk through your negative thought patterns. That is where I would start (and I speak as someone who has lost a lot of weight).

I did this, I had quite a difficult breakup in early winter/spring, I have tried to do things that make me happy, seek extra friendships activities etc, but ultimately I keep sinking back into poor mental health routines every few months, I've come down to the fact a lot of my poor mental health resolves around my physical health so by changing the routine however it has only delayed it not cured or prevented, I've been on a counselling and therapy list for nearly 3 years, so realistically I need to find help somewhere else.
