Every Saturday for the last 10 years we’ve ordered a takeaway, bought popcorn and had a family movie night. It originally began with going to the actual video shop and picking a DVD which then became picking something on Netflix. A couple of years ago my older DC stopped wanting to join us for it. Preferring to game in his room. I accepted this would happen, he’s a teenager. Tonight my youngest, 12, has declined my standing invitation to watch a movie with his old mum. A movie of his choosing, as it has been for every movie night since his brother stopped joining us. I can’t tempt him. The PlayStation has won. It’s over. It’s just me and the dog on the sofa tonight. I have suggested DS might feel guilty about this but I don’t think he’s much inclined Grin

So, what do I do with my Saturday nights now? Confused Apart from cry Grin

Get yourself a takeaway and choose a film you actually want to watch!

Get yourself some snacks and enjoy some films you want to watch. He might join in occasionally, but on the plus side if he feels comfortable saying he doesn't want to, it means all of the other times he has wanted to and hasn't felt just like he should; I think that's lovely. Maybe if you see any films it would sound like he'd like mention it during the week

That is a very good point and one I’m going to cling to @Ricetwisty! Thank you.

I’ve just sobbed my way through Slipping through my fingers in Mamma Mia.

Depends what you like. I loved the series Lucifer on Netflix. Lots of Christmas films also on Netflix now.

Get a gaming PC and chair in the lounge.
