Recommendations for a brilliant afternoon tea in London?

I'm looking to gift an afternoon tea in London to two family members who have had a really tough time over the last few months.

I know the "tourist" type favourites (Ritz maybe) but can anyone recommend a really lovely place? Cost not really a factor (within reason!!!)

Thanks!

Four Seasons Rotunda - I liked this one, good value compared to the other hotels. For one a little less traditional I loved the Shakespeare themed tea at the globe theatre. It was based around Midsummer last time I went but now it seems to be Romeo and Juliet so perhaps time for another trip!

For something a little different. How about the Swan next to the Globe?

I went for afternoon Tea there and instead of the standard sandwiches and cakes (Romeo and Juliet) I had the Mr Falstaff's

PULLED IRISH BEEF BURGER
BEETROOT CRISPS
BAKED STILTON CHEESE SCONE
GLOUCESTER OLD SPOT SAUSAGE ROLL
MINI CURIOUS BREW BATTERED FISH AND CHIPS
WELSH RAREBIT
£32.50

WITH A TANKARD OF CURIOUS IPA
£37.50

It was great.

I’ve had a number of afternoon teas in London and my favourite which I have been back to loads of time is The Landmark. It’s traditional but without being stuffy. They also have (iirc) the largest indoor Christmas tree. It’s a bit special.

Alternatively, afternoon tea at The Dorchester on the balcony is excellent. There’s only a couple of tables and the service is better than you can imagine.

I went to Browns and it was nice but didn’t feel special. The Langham is good too but The Landmark is always my go to.

The Wolseley is great value. I like the Savoy. Went to Claridges recently and wasn't that impressed. I love the Dorchester even though last time I was there a mouse scampered across the room!
Not been to either but have consistently heard great things about Fortnums and The Shard.
