Hello. Really grateful for opinions regarding schools, good areas to live, and general info about Worcester. Possible relocation for work (Birmingham) with primary aged child. Thanks in advance!

Have you had any feedback on this? As I have the same questions! :)

I live in the centre of Worcester and like living here. I can answer general stuff but if you have specific questions then it may be easier.

I have a 3 year old DD so no experience yet of primary schools but my husband is a secondary teacher so have an idea of good schools around.

There are some good parts of Worcester and obviously some dodgy parts too. I moved here about 13 years ago and don't want to move elsewhere now.

We’re Kidderminster. Lovely countryside all round and good shopping, Birmingham, Merry Hill, Worcester etc. love living here.

Hi moonlight :)

would love some idea what primary schools you would recommend? And where to avoid?
Some of the surrounding village schools look good also?

secondary schools from what I’m reading the chantry and Hanley castle are meant to be good for state? Possibly pershore?

Worcester looks a lovely place to live, I just want to make sure when we move we are in right catchment for primary

thanks :)

Primary schools are all pretty level here but worth checking out Claines as it is nice and small with good afterschool clubs. We're in the catchment for St Barnabus which again has decent reputation. We're also pretty near Perdiswell which is a feeder school for Tudor Grange and thus very popular.

Out of town thrn Drakes Broughton has an excellent primary but you then run into trouble for secondaries there.

Chantry, Hanley Castle, Christopher Whitehead and Tudor Grange are all good secondaries (ignore stories about Tudor Grange, it uses to be bad but has turned a huge corner). Friends have had kids at all these and have been happy. DH teaches at one of them and finds it excellent for behaviour.

I have family that live in Worcestershire (Redditch) and they have the middle school system. Not sure about the rest of Worcestershire, but might be something to think about when looking at areas.
