What do your cars get v what the book says?

My old
Toyota Yaris 1.3 manual petrol got 52-58mpg v 36.7-56.5mpg
My new
Skoda Fabia 1.0 manual petrol gets 54-68mpg v 54.3 - 72.4mpg

If you have:
Honda Jazz 1.2 auto petrol does it get 53.3-68.9mpg?
Honda Jazz 1.3 auto hybrid does it get 61.4-64.2mpg?

Toyota RAV4 1.8 auto hybrid does it get 60.5mpg?
Toyota Yaris 1.5 auto hybrid does it get 76.0-83.0mpg?

Fiat 500e electric 42 kWh does it get 240Wh/mi?
Hyundai Kona electric 64kWh does it get 260kWh/mi?

No idea, I only think in terms of miles per tank and possibly pence per mile, but when I was looking for a new car a few weeks ago, I noticed that some time around 2018(?) they changed the way they measured it so if you have a car newer than this, the actual and stated fuel consumption is likely to be much closer.

The old version was too optimistic and could only be used to compare the relative consumption of different cars, ie if it said 60 MPG it was likely to be more efficient than one that stated 50 MPG, but you wouldn't actually get that far with either of them.

Miles per tank (if you know how big your tank is) and pence per mile would be grand (if you know how much you pay per litre).

@AuntDympna

Miles per tank (if you know how big your tank is) and pence per mile would be grand (if you know how much you pay per litre).
Which I do. I fill my car up when the light comes on, completely empty it's 35 litres so its usually just less than that. That amount of fuel usually costs around £45 or so, and I get around 380-400 miles from the tank.

So when I fill my car up, I have the thought that it was 390 miles that cost £46 which is about 11.8 pence per mile.

That's useful to me because HMRC public tables of how much you can claim for fuel only if you use a company car for work - my current car is not a company car, but I've had company cars in the past. Knowing the pence per mile also makes it easy to work out how much the fuel for any particular journey costs roughly.

I'm not sure what use knowing miles per gallon for cars actually is, especially as we don't buy fuel in gallons any more.

Haha so true - mpg is the default on my car info display.
The purpose of my question is to know which models do what itrw.

My 2007 Kia Sorento has a 65 litre tank, cost £95 to fill with diesel (goddamn the hideous price of fuel) and I get around 420 miles out of a tank - works out about 22p per mile if my maths is right 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♀️
