E10 unleaded petrol and the middle-aged car

Has anyone else noticed a lack of oomph and a drop in performance from their car now they'e switched to this new fuel? Mine doesn't like it all that much - its get up and go has got up and gone. At first I thought it was in need of a service, until one day I thought it might be a fuel issue so I put some of the super E5 in instead. Car back to its enthusiastic moderate self.

There have been reports that fuel consumption goes up with the use of E10, and that it can damage the engines of older vehicles.

How are you finding it?

I have definitely noticed a difference. From the first time it was in my tank. 06 Nissan here. I usually fill up once every 2 weeks and it was about £45 for a full tank. Now I'll be lucky if I make it to 10 days and pay £50. No changes to my journeys. If anything, I am using my car less!

I actually took my CRV to the garage because it kept being really chuggy. They couldn't find anything wrong and suggested switching fuel. Have used the premium stuff for a few weeks now and no more chugginess.

They said they've had quite a few cars in with similar complaint and nothing diagnostic they can find but nobody coming back again after switching fuel.
