Erm, are these baby leeches in my garden. Caution, pics!

So I was just out in the back garden, and saw what looks like (thanks, google) baby leeches.
I’ve not got a pond. The neighbours haven’t got a pond. Are these indeed baby leeches, and what the fuck are they doing in my garden? There is a paw print from a large cat who recently had an incident with emulsion for scale.
If these aren’t leeches, what on earth are they??? Should I be doing anything other than saying ‘eurgh’?

Well. I’ve had an educational 40 minutes.

I’ve read far too much about flatworms (yes, I think they might well be flatworms)
I’m going back out tomorrow to clear some of the dead leaves from the patio where they are ‘gathering’ to see what I can see in daylight. I’ve had a quick scout round the rest of the garden and didn’t see any more of them.
@WaltzingBetty it’s too late to stop the killing. I went out with two kettles worth of boiling water. I don’t like doing it, but am hardened, having had a vine weevil issue this year, too.

We have a 5 foot snake at home but those things have given me the wobbles.

Yes they first showed up in Europe in 2016. Before that they were only in Western Hemisphere.
