My dm was trying to remember an actress in a film and just described her as the one who isn’t Cate Blanchett. Who do you think she was describing?

Definitely Gwyneth Paltrow. I always think of her as the one that isn't Cate Blanchett.

I've got a similar thing about Leonardo Di Caprio.

Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Di Caprio himself and probably one or two other hollywood male actors of a certain age are all just "the Leonardo Di Caprios" to me.

I have a vague class of current male actors who are in stuff that never interests me, who in my head are the ‘Ryan Hemsworths’.

Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett are commonly confused, hence so many people on here correctly guessing. Blonde, ethereal, good cheek bones.

I was going to say Tilda Swinton too. I've always thought they look similar and play similar characters.

I always mix up Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett but DP thinks I have some form of face blindness. They both have strong features and short blonde hair! And are tall and very slim.

I can’t even remember which film it was she was talking about. She probably described the film as not The English Patient or something. Having a conversation with my mother is increasingly like trying to do a cryptic crossword.
