Party bag ideas - toddlers to 5 year olds

Decided to have a small gathering for DS last minute.

What kind of thing would you put in a goodie bag or as prizes for games?

Recently we went to a party and received a paint your own money box which was a good idea (and they go down to £2 in the sale so a bargain price). However, it's all the same kids coming to this party so need another idea. But within the same budget of a few pounds each (obviously will include a few other things such as the cake, chocs, stickers, stamps etc).

The kids age mainly between age 2 1/2 and 5.

Thanks 🥳🥳

No suggestions - sorry! But following with interest x

Fidget key rings

SummerHouse · 01/11/2021 19:54

Just have a look in home bargains and see what they have. We did light up 89p yo-yos but kids were older.

stayathomer · 01/11/2021 19:56

Was thinking bubbles, slinkies and yo yos, then a packet of chickatees and chocolate buttons but with the younger ones I'm not sure ...

MerryMarigold · 01/11/2021 19:58

Glow sticks, finger torches

User00000000 · 01/11/2021 19:58

Mine like a matchbox car or similar, you can get those quite cheap.

MerryMarigold · 01/11/2021 19:59

Or one ol large smarties tube and nothing else

anonymousanne · 01/11/2021 20:02

Keep the ideas coming 😁
Think yo-yos would be too difficult for most of them although I'll bank this idea for a few years time.
Bubbles are a good shout. Every age group likes bubbles.
No idea what those fidget things are so I will google.
Can't do glow sticks, too many would put them in their mouths and chew them.
Like the tube of smarties idea!

Yes, seen the little cars. Not to be all pushy with gender but mainly girls, who probably wouldn't appreciate a car

One of the best ones we've ever had was a book each. Books can be £1/£2 each. Less even. So about the same as some plastic tat but miles nicer. They were great for quiet winding down after party on the way home. Tkmxx do some fab sets where you get loads for not much. Then you can get age appropriate for the different kids. Let them choose their own from the choice you have so they all get one they like.

Not so good this time of year but bucket and spade sets from poundland make a useful alternative party bag.

csam · 01/11/2021 20:10

Have a look on bakerross website. Lots of arts and crafts bits that come in packs of 5 or 6 to choose from.

DancingQueen85 · 01/11/2021 20:16

The works do canvas bags which you can colour in for £1. They come with felt tips which I put in the bag along with some bubbles and a few sweets

CleanSheetsCupOfTea · 01/11/2021 20:17

Recently I got a load of sun catchers that you paint from hobbycraft in the sale so I did one of those and a poppet (from Poundland) and a little packet of sweets for the slightly older children. And a book for the younger ones (got the that’s not my books when they were in aldi). I also stuck a balloon in each bag which apparently went down well! Hobbycraft have loads of bits you could put in if you have one nearby.

MrsTWH · 01/11/2021 20:17

The Book People online used to do some big sets of books which we split (one year we did Mr Men, one year Horrid Henry, one year Roald Dahl!) with cake/balloon/bubbles. Always seem to go down well.

We did mr men books for the Halloween party. Everyone won two books. Could maybe do books again 🤔

Love the sun Cather idea but I have actually got a boxes one for Xmas for the 5 year old. And some ready in my DDs Xmas box. Good idea though. Think I could maybe do this

I saw a kid at the park recently with a foam aeroplane. They are pretty impressive, was flying in circles and everything, looked loads of fun. They are about £4 each though so more than I wanted to pay 🤔 not sure the small gliders would have the same effect

Baker Ross website is great for this kind of thing.
