Where do you store your booze and is it lockable?

Apart from a bottle of white, a bottle of fizz and some lager in the fridge all my booze is currently in a built in cabinet in the lounge. There's probably about 25 bottles of red wine and spirits. Most of the glasses are in there too including the boxed good stuff!

I have one DD(14) who is sensible and has a small group of friends who will be sleeping over in the lounge on New Years Eve - probably 3 friends staying over + one just coming for the evening. They are good kids but I'm worried about putting temptation in their way and think I should get a lock put on the cabinet. But then I started wondering whether the lounge is even the best place for booze storage (there's certainly plenty of other uses the cabinet could be put to) - DP and I aren't big drinkers and don't entertain regularly (the bottles in the fridge have been there for months just in case they're needed!) - only a couple of the bottles get used with any regularity and some of it is stuff like brandy/sherry for cooking with so might be better in the kitchen (where it also wouldn't be locked away and I'm not putting a lock on the fridge for that stuff either!)

So what do you all do? Where do you keep your booze and is it lockable?

On top of the kitchen cabinets in wine rack and some small storage boxes for nice glasses etc.

We have about a hundred bottles of booze ranging from wine to spirits for all to see downstairs and about 30 barrels of beer in the cellar Grin
We live in a pub though. DS is 9 and already knows we have a weekly stock take.

The simple solution for New Year is surely just to put it in cardboard boxes and store it in your bed room? I don’t think keeping alcohol in a locked cupboard all the time sends a good message really. Storing red wine in a cupboard in the living room won’t do it any favours either.

We can lock alcohol in a cellar, but only lock the cellar when the kids host parties. The rest of time they could access it all but have never taken any without being given permission. Now oldest are students we would still lock if they were hosting lots of friends, but they would take out what they planned to drink first - but that’s mainly to protect some very special bottles.
