How can I get rid of underwear?!

I have a load of lovely bras and pants (nice clean and in great condition) that I can no longer wear two babies down the line - it’s all full briefs and maternity bras now and even when I stop feeding my bra size has massively changed! I don’t want to just throw this stuff away, there MUST be somewhere I can donate them - any ideas Mumsnet?

Don't think charity shops take underwear. Sell the bras on Ebay, bin the knickers.

BruceAndNosh · 01/11/2021 08:11

There's a charity called Smalls for all that takes underwear.
Lightly used bras but I think they ask for donations of new unworn pants

There are several charities that recycle bras.

M & s used to collect bras not sure post covid.

Clymene · 01/11/2021 08:12

Recycle your bras. No one wants your used pants except perverts on eBay

Pbbananabagel · 01/11/2021 08:13

Amazing thank you! Any ideas for the pants?? I used to buy 3 pairs of lovely matching pants with every new bra so this is why it’s hurting to get rid I think Blush

Just put the pants in one of those textile recycling bins you get in car parks / at the dump

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/11/2021 08:18

Some homeless charities need women's clothes (they tend to get more mens clothing donated).

Pbbananabagel · 01/11/2021 08:18

@coffeeschmoffee yeah you’re right, at least that’s something Smile

Sell the pants to the perverts on ebay and donate money to charity...

Shrimpseyelashes · 01/11/2021 08:20

Don’t sell on eBay- I made that mistake with my maternity bras thinking someone would benefit from them and was inundated with messages from perverts asking if I would include (used) pants too. 🤮

Shrimpseyelashes · 01/11/2021 08:21

Or actually do sell on eBay and do what Bruce suggested!

Maskless · 01/11/2021 08:36

@BruceAndNosh

Sell the pants to the perverts on ebay and donate money to charity...

My sister use to sell hers, it started with used shoes on eBay which are very popular then she started building up a group of regulars who would ask for underwear as well which she would send 🤢

missymousey · 01/11/2021 08:42

Hang onto them a while if you like them. I eventually have gone back to my previous size even though I thought I never would. DD is 2.5 now, so it's taken around a year since the end of breast feeding for the back size to return to normal.

LowlandLucky · 01/11/2021 08:44

There are a few charities that send bra's to Africa. Women wearing a bra there are less likely to be victims of sexual violence as they are seen to be wealthy ( therefore higher classed) if they can afford a bra.

Pbbananabagel · 01/11/2021 08:50

@LowlandLucky that’s so very sad. I’ve had a look at @BruceAndNosh smaller for all suggestion and this feels the best for the bra’s for sure.

An interesting different perspective on Smalls for All:

I think the Salvation Army take all underwear.
