Horrible pain with piles, maybe TMI

Gonna add a TMI incase people are put off.

Gosh it's been relentless!

I only have to move position in bed and the pain takes off.

I've had a small pile ever since I had my DC 12 years ago. I wouldn't even know it was there until I looked.
So it's not bothered me at all.

I do remember a few years ago I had to use Anusol because it enlarged slightly and although it shrunk it was still a little bigger than when I first got it.

Anyway fast forward to now, a couple of days ago I noticed I was going to the toilet more and more. So much that toilet paper was hurting my backside I had wiped that much. I noticed when I sat down or stood up and muscles start clenching I was in terrible pain.

I had a feeling the pile was the culprit. Well yesterday I bought some Anusol for the pile. And when I looked at it, it's tripled in size since I last saw it and it's so so sore. I put the cream all around the area and have had no relief all night. Barely a few hours sleep.

Who know you clenched your arse that much in the night that the pain would wake you up? I also can't remember it being this painful last time but that may be due to the size of it.

Anyone who's used Anusol and remembers days and that, how long would you say it takes for it to start shrinking and you don't get pain constant throughout the day?
The worst part is the siting and standing. Once walking a round it isn't massively painful.

Just an update on this thread.

I rang the doctors today fully expecting to fill in an e-form and wait for a doctor/nurse to phone me. But I got an appointment with a lovely doctor. My pain has almost gone but the pile has not shrunk one bit.

She commented on the size and said it was large so did say she will prescribe a stronger ointment and refer me to the hospital to have it removed.
Afterwards she said actually let's see how the ointment goes and if it doesn't shrink i will refer you.

I'm hoping it shrinks as I can't be intimate with my partner at all and how long would a referral
Take? I'm guessing months and months , maybe over a year?

Glad you got to see a GP OP, just phone her in a few weeks and say it's got bigger. The waiting list to see a consultant is probably about 18 months anyway!

Watching! Do suppositories sometimes not work?
