iPhones please I have chance if a role wfh 100% so no commute expense or time out my day. Other option is a job 3 days in office which pays more ...it think is rather earn a bit less and not have to commute especially as winter coming ! Thoughts please ...anyone ?

So for the new job that is fully remote, how will you build relationships and learn company culture without ever meeting people? The new job where you will meet people 3 days a week would allow you to build your network in a more meaningful way e.g. you can interact with a wider range of people, you see how others behave in the office in a general sense. My company has found that all.our new joiners over the last 18months have benefitted massively from coming into the office since we started hybrid working in Sept. They all say they've enjoyed work much more and have got a better sense of the team and how to do their job well.

Of course it depends on your role, but if you're after a career and wider opportunities with the company long term, I'd make the effort to go into the office. If you prefer a task focused job with limited wider networking and more time for your personal life, then go for the fully remote role.

thanks for all comments, these are both contract roles so building relationships/promotions are less relevant...i think remote works best for me...

If, as it sounds you are, you decide to go for the 100% WFH role, do ensure you have well defined boundaries between your work and non-work life. That was something I didn't always get right.

Do you have a room which can be dedicated as your office, to which you can close the door once your working day is done? I'm assuming your work will provide you with all the equipment you need, ie: computer, good full sized screen(s), properly supportive office chair, printer and printer supplies, etc. Do ensure you have the best/fastest Internet you can afford.

Also, if you can, in your work email signature, put in the hours you work so people (including you) get used to the idea that you have a defined, structured working day - in the same way you would if you were physically in the office. Do the same on your work mobile.

Be up, dressed and logged in 10mins before your working day so you're mentally "at work" on time and log out again at a sensible point at the end of your working day.

Plan to get out during your lunch hour for exercise and fresh air away from your screen. Try and avoid constantly checking emails and your work mobile out of working hours.

Good luck with your new job. 🌹

It really depends on you personally

I've wfh for years now, occasional days in office, outside meetings, few overnights; and just the thought of a daily commute fills me with horror!

Mine is also a remote contract role without set hours (are yours set, or just 'get the job done') and the flexibility is so helpful

Am having a wobble I am undecided the job is 3 days in the office am undecided as not sure I can face that...as I’ve worked from home for last 18 months. It seems like it would be full on could be quite stressful...need to devise soon. Other job is fully remote but not as far along yet...so I hang on for fully remote or take this one...am feeling all anxious now ...
