Hi,

I have already made an appointment, but it isn't for a couple if weeks. I have to say, I'm getting increasingly worried and not sure if I shouldn't try and get her in for an emergency appointment next week.

I thought maybe it was a sinus related headache, as she was initially complaining of jaw pain and pain in her cheekbone and above her eyes, but now it seems to have moved to the back of her head, on one side at the top. It's not debilitating, more niggly. Needing a paracetamol every other day, so not severe, but just doesn't seem to be going away.

No blurry vision or nausea. This is her only symptom. She finished her period a couple of days ago and said it was heavier than usual, so wondering if it's hormonal. I'm certainly hoping!

I think I'm worried because the pain now seems to be moving around and as I say, has been going on for a couple of weeks now.

Would you be worried? Should I just wait and see at this stage?

TIA

The fact that it’s moving would reassure me, if it was something sinister it would very consistent with worsening symptoms over time.
Agree with others about opticians.
Also sleep, posture, diet.
If it’s low level pain and moving I would personally think it’s stress/anxiety.

If its poor posture these exercises will help, my physiotherapist told me to do these when I was getting daily tension headaches and they sorted them out. If the cause isn't poor posture these won't help but she should correct her posture anyway

Apart from all the good advice already given, I would encourage her to download a period tracking app on her phone. There are lots to choose from - Clue is the one I use. The basic features (which are more than ample) are free.
She can monitor her headaches (and any other symptoms) on the app to see if there is a hormonal link.
I get headaches around ovulation for a few days and then again a couple of days before and during my period. Sometimes it seems like I constantly have a headache but can link it to certain times of the month with help from the app.
Obviously do this in conjunction with docs appointment/ eye test etc.

Dd benefited hugely from sitting on a yoga ball recommended by physio. Check how to measure height. Brilliant for posture and core strength.
Also optician key

If you have gas/an open fire in your home do you have a carbon monoxide monitor?

Low iron is worth considering

Great advice about arranging an optician, & dental appointments, before the GP appointment if you can.

Also, keep a headache diary, & being it to the GP appointment, have a look at The Migraine Trust, keeping a headache diary

This was how my wisdom teeth issues started presenting when I was around the same age (I had all four removed in hospital under GA when I was about 18/19, as they were badly impacted - I had far too many teeth in a very overcrowded jaw).

As PPs have said, start with optician and dentist.
