A good film to watch with DD (10) that we'll both enjoy?

Having a cosy night in with DD this eve - plan is to watch a movie. She's seen all the main disney movies etc. I'd love to find something we'll both enjoy - can be new or old, obviously not too scary/inappropriate.

Thanks in advance Smile

Another vote for Fly Away Home. A lovely film.
Ring of Bright Water is a bit of a tearjerker, it still makes me cry

Ring of bright water?
Do you not like your dc?
If emotional trauma is your thing I suggest
Bridge to Terabitha

Seriously, don’t watch a Dog’s Purpose if you want an enjoyable evening

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 29/10/2021 18:29

Ring of Bright Water is not cosy!!!! It’s horrific in parts!

Hidden Figures is superb. It should be compulsory viewing for everyone before they leave primary school.

Hocus pocus?

PlanetMJ · 29/10/2021 18:36

Ballet shoes?
Only watch ring of bright water if you are both if a steely disposition. Is traumatic!

OneTimeGo · 29/10/2021 18:36

Randomly, we loved the Dora the Explorer film. Was great for that age and very tongue in cheek.

Homeward Bound

Cruella is fine for most 10yos. Only one scary bit (when Cruella is stuck on a burning building)

Cheaper by the Dozen
And Parent Trap were my DC's favourites at that age.
They also liked Night at the Museum
How about a Dickens or Jane Austen?
I was traumatised by Ring of Bright water nearly 50 years ago ; I would avoid it. .
