Errors on my marriage certificate

My husband and I got married two weeks ago and we received our marriage certificate today. We have noticed the registry office have spelt my husband’s father’s address incorrectly (just one letter out) and they have got my father’s first and middle names the wrong way around. Is it important that I correct this or is it ok just to leave it? The registry office is a nightmare to get hold of and we’ve had a few issues with them already. I was hoping not to deal with them again but I’m worried these mistakes could affect things. Please help!

Not sure but I'd want it corrected.
Didn't they ask you to proof read it before you signed it? (Sorry, I know that doesn't help!)

If you decide not to get it corrected, it'll leave some lovely confusion for a descendent trying to trace the family tree in years to come Grin (you'd be surprised the errors I've found in certificates for our family tree)

@Ilovechristmasasmuchasiloveyou it was in another part of the country so they sent it via post so we never got to proof-read it unfortunately! All the details we submitted in the M10 forms were correct.

My parents certificate has the wrong date of marriage. They didn't bother changing it. They both say it's a get out clause.

@PheasantsNest lol I love that Grin

@Sweetchocolatecandy it's 49 years now so probably a bit late Smile.

I would pursue getting it corrected- its an official document and can be used for many things other than just ancestry tracing. Easy to correct it now, rather than in years to come.

As just 1 exampled: If you have children, and in the future moved abroad, they might need your marriage certificate, and parents birth certificates to prove UK citizenship- if the names are different, it would be difficult to explain. 'I was busy and couldn't be bothered getting it corrected'!!!
