My torso has been itchy for several days now. It's driving me insane Halloween Confused No rash, no dry skin that I can see or feel, nothing. I haven't changed anything like wash powder or shower gel etc. it's mainly my stomach, breasts and chest but a bit on my sides and back too. I'm about ready to claw my skin off tbh.

Are you perimenopausal by any chance? I got very itchy when that hit!

EssexLioness · 28/10/2021 15:42

I came on here to suggest perimenopause too. My symptoms became noticeable when I hit 40

Or an unknown diabetic? I get itchy skin when my sugars are elevated. It's a missed symptom often.

I developed a sensitivity to dairy in my early 30s. It makes me itchy.

Or could you be dehydrated?

Wait. What are the symptoms? My periods have been ridiculous for the last year or so, I used to be 28 days like clockwork, now I'm regularly going well over 30 days, like 35-37, even had a few 40 day+ cycles! And they only last 3-4 days too Halloween Confused

Are you 100% certain you're not pregnant? Heavy itching can be a symptom of a condition called obstetric cholestasis. Which is a liver condition so I guess it's also possible you could be itchy due to some other liver condition, although I don't know.

Personally, I'd be seeing a doctor myself.

I POAS last week (on day 36 Hmm ) because my period hadn't come, it was negative, then period came 2 days later. So I don't think I am 🤞🏼

I just hope the doctor will see me. They still don't like to see patients here unless it's an emergency.

Hi OP - I went to my gp a couple of years ago with undefined itching. I could definitely say it wasn’t a new product, etc etc. Once that line of enquiry is out - they will just go straight to blood tests to try pick up any unusual markers.

So I’d get an appointment and be clear that this isn’t “new washing powder” etc ….

In my case I’d an under active thyroid and my skin was insanely agitated… once my thyroid was operating normally the itch vamoosed…

Dillydollydingdong · 28/10/2021 16:48

Yes, you need a trip to the gp and get liver function tested.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 29/10/2021 11:55

I rang the doctors and I have to ring Monday morning to speak to the triage paramedic and he'll decide if I need to be seen that day. Or if not I just have to keep ringing up to see if they've released more routine appointments yet Hmm

Also kidney function test, hope it's something minor.
