Pregnancy test

Hi all! I’m new to this but come on here because I don’t have many friends that can help so thought I’d ask for advice on here.I’m 6 days late and I’ve had three positive clear blue tests, went to the doctors today as I wanted to clarify. The nurse done a test within a few minutes she told me it was negative. She didn’t wait any amount of time she just instantly said negative. After I showed her my three tests she was so rude to me and told me she didn’t know either. I ended up leaving in tears and went straight to the shop to get another clear blue, yet again it’s come back positive. Does anyone have any advice where to go from here? What should I think? I have a gut feeling I am pregnant as my boobs are hurting and I feel very nauseated however the doctors has really threw me off. Could it be because I’m so early it didn’t show? Any advice would be so appreciated. Thank you Smile

I'm not sure what sort of advice you are looking for? Four positive tests seems pretty conclusive. You'll need to phone the midwifery department for your booking in appointment which should be at around 8 weeks.

Have you tried a clear blue digital? I dislike tests with lines. Much prefer seeing it in writing. If it comes up pregnant, as the PP said, phone up to get booked in at 8 weeks Smile

What tests have you used? The doctors tests tend to be less sensitive however your hcg levels if you are already several days late for your period should be high enough to get a positive test for a viable pregnancy

I’m just confused as to how I’ve had positive ones but the doctor had a negative result. So the advice I was wanting was what would be your next move? Go back and explain the situation, and get tested again or wait until I could possibly be further on and do the test again. I’m just confused at the two different results.

I haven’t tried a digital test. I’m definitely going to get one first thing tomorrow and go from there. I feel in a way I could possibly be too early for a strong second line straight away and the doctor didn’t wait long enough for a second one to appear. That’s my gut feeling, thanks for the advice Smile

You're 6 days late which actually makes you around 5 weeks. At that gestation hcg for a viable pregnancy should be in the 1000s.
The tests you are using at home are a lot more sensitive than the standard NHS ones at the doctors - so they probably pick up hcg as low as 15 but the doctors could be 25 or even maybe 100. It's possible this is a chemical pregnancy and your tests may get lighter - you could also ask for a blood test to unequivocally say for definite

I've actually had this happen to me - a GP tested me, said negative (I literally had a clear blue digital in my hand saying pregnant). She sat it on the side, we had a chat and when she went to bin it said 'oh well, I suppose they all turn positive in the end' and binned it concluding I was negative. There's a bit more to the story as to why I didn't really click what was going on and challenge it at the time. That pregnancy was ectopic.
But, as another PP has said, it could be a chemical pregnancy. Any time I've have changeable test results it's not a pregnancy that has continued. Wishing you luck OP.

This happened to me too, positive home tests and a negative doctors test.

They ended up sending me for a scan and I was pregnant.

Ask to see another doctor/nurse or just make a midwife appointment.

Congratulations, you are pregnant!

How long after you took the tests did the lines show up? If longer then the recommended time could be Evaporation lines and not an actual positive?
