Would you recommend it?

I have been a cleaner for a long time. My body is giving up on me, but I am still very much in demand, the demand for cleaners is very high. I have been considering whether to take on some employees and take a step back from the physical cleaning myself.

Is this advisable? How does it work? Do you have to have a training system for staff? Do I have to provide vehicles? I would provide all cleaning materials and equipment. Is there a living to be made in just being the employer rather than actually cleaning myself?

Anything and everything else I need to consider?

I don't run a cleaning business, but I do have staff. Things to consider, you can specify own transport, but you will cover expenses. You will need employers liability insurance, which you will be able to get from the company that does your public liability most likely. You will need to consider paying sick pay, emergency leave and cover, holiday pay, NI contributions, pension contributions, maternity/paternity/parental leave. They will need a contract and yes you will have to provide training which has to be noted down. All these things mean that you will pay them considerably less than yourself. Can you do this and still pay them a decent wage in line with minimum requirements?
Alternatively, you can subcontract. They are self employed and take care of all the above and you pay them more. There are a lot of stipulations to ensure they are considered to be self employed.
