NHS early retirement, what to do next?

Worn out NHS GP here. Can't take any more, so looking to 'retire' next year. Pension not great despite AVCs due to P/T working, single parent & no financial support from DC's dad. Older Mum, so DC currently yr10.
I don't want to do anything remotely health related, but will need to earn a (modest) amount to supplement pension. Also, want at least some structure & socialising outside the home. My biggest interest in life is food. Not sure I can monetise gluttony!
Any thoughts? I'm sorry to see the NHS in such dire straights, but have given it 30 yrs of my life & am utterly sucked dry.

When you said not medical related, did you mean hands on only? what about working in medical sales? My sisters nephew in law did or does this.

I’m sorry to hear this OP but totally understand why you feel like this.
Do you live anywhere near a university that teaches nursing/health/social care? You would be a great asset to a lecturing team. You could work part time or as an Associate Lecturer where you’re paid on an hourly basis. Your skills of assessment, diagnosis & prescribing would be very much valued.
Good luck.

I like the idea of teaching/lecturing, thanks. I think some injection of youthful enthusiasm would do me good (& feel like I was using my experience in a meaningful way)

Sounds like teaching/lecturing would be good, but have you also thought of working part-time for a private online GP provider? I saw someone advertising yesterday, unfortunately I can't remember the name. You had to be available for one 4 hour shift a week minimum.

I may fall back on doing some online sessions, but, quite frankly, I'd be happy to leave and never come back!
