We need a new sofa. After 22 years our have definitely turned up their toes.

How much were yours? Did you buy on credit or straight out? Leather or cloth? We have dogs so need to be hard-wearing but bored with leather now.

Is £2500 a reasonable budget for two sofas and a chair?

Ours is from Sofology. It's less than 18 months old but is not good quality. I would not recommend.

Thank you kitkat151 that's reassuring that they are comfortable. It seemed okay in the showroom and judging by reviews online it seems to be mainly fairly positive 😬 🤞

Honestly hate making these kinds of purchases, you never know how it's all going to turn out😫

We’ve ordered two sofas from John Lewis and they have a current delivery time of 22 weeks. We paid cash as we had the money there. Cost £2500 in total. We’ve went for a grey Barbican (chosen by DH) and a navy blue velvet Booth (my choice). They had those two together on display albeit different colours/fabrics so I’m hoping they look okay in our living room when we eventually get them.

We have an IKEA Ektorp too - an L-shaped one - it must be 10 years old but still going strong. It's a great shape for us and not too low, unlike most locally made sofas (we're on the French-Swiss border). Could do with new covers due to cat scratches but there's not much choice for the L-shaped covers where we are. However they are washable in the machine! The back cushions get saggy after a while but I followed a great hack where you just stuff a pillow in the bottom and they're great again.

2,Tetrad velvet sofas in the sitting room. Rarely used. Maximum 2/3 times a year.
The sun damaged the one at the window. The fabric disintegrated.
Tetrad didn't want to know.

I would never buy from Tetrad again.

We have a 22 year-old Ektorp which is coming to the end of its life now. It certainly doesn't owe us anything and I've bought various new covers for it over the years. It certainly wouldn't put me off going for IKEA again but want something with a deeper seat and a bit bigger now.
