Tell me about it... I have 4-5 stone to lose. I'd love to know how it works if you don't mind.

There no training. I literally cannot physically eat much!

Well done, such a difference! What do you eat now on an average day?

They take 85% of your stomach, preventing you from overeating.

The part of the stomach that makes the hunger hormone is also removed which makes things SO much easier.

OP posts:
lovingnewme · 24/10/2021 15:43

Does it take away the boredom hormone?
I'm sure that would help me from over-eating!

Namechangeforone · 24/10/2021 15:43

Well done op!

Unfortunately not 😂 It's not easy, all the psychological issues are still present. Stress eating, comfort eating etc... It is very difficult mentally

Ooh. A few ladies I was with were having band to sleeve convertions. How are you finding it so far? Are you still on puree?

"The part of the stomach that makes the hunger hormone is also removed which makes things SO much easier."

Oh that's interesting

I wonder if there's a less drastic way to remive the hormone.

I've recently moved from puree/mush to regular/textured food. So far, so good.

Overall, my experience with the band/bypass conversion has been very positive. I feel overwhelming relief at getting the problematic gastric band out of my body!

Well done!

Do you miss eating a proper meal (I'm assuming you can't)

DampSquidGames · 24/10/2021 16:35

Well done, my friend lost a lot of weight with the same procedure about 5 years ago.

I can eat anything in small portions.

Having steak, mushrooms and asparagus tonight.

Sometimes it's frustrating not being able to eat alot, but that's a mental issue, as I will be physically full.

I was looking at the band. Very glad I didn't get that. Also the balloon. It's concerning how many people have issues with them.

Has she maintained her loss?
OP posts:
DampSquidGames · 24/10/2021 18:39

VsgKitt no unfortunately she hasn’t although obviously everyone is different. I think she lost over 40 kilos and has put about 30 back on. She’s hard on herself but she still weighs less than before which has got to be good for her health.

Farcry66 · 24/10/2021 18:40

Did you pay for it your self or was it on the nhs? If you did pay for it, how much was it?

Such an amazing difference! Well done!

I was first recommended the op by my GP and referred to the NHS weight loss services in April but was told it would be about 3 years (still not even recieved the referral) due to covid wait list times so I looked at UK prices (£10-11k) which I couldn't afford so I went to Turkey and paid £2.5k
