What does your cleaner actual do? We have a cleaner who comes twice a week, rates have gone up and I'm questioning our need. We both work fulltime and 2 dc.
Our cleaner does cleaner kitchen floor, bathroom floor and bathroom and then hovers. Thinking of asking about blinds to be done, what else? We hoover so it's no problem .

All floors mopped / swept / hoovered

All skirtings, door frames & doors and radiators, blinds & window sills cleaned

Bathrooms fully cleaned kitchen fully cleaned all furniture dusted

I still Hoover every day and I make the beds and clean the kitchen every day

Dust, hoover, mop the hard floors, clean the kitchen surfaces and the bathroom. And anything else I ask her to, time-permitting (inside of the fridge, wiping down walls or woodwork, etc.)

Twice a week does seem a lot to me.

@monsterpumpkins that's a big list! I'll be honest I feel a little uncomfortable having a cleaner so I feel a bit cheeky asking her to do things. So I'd like her to tidy up but that seems cheeky. Laundry would be great too.
@russianspy101 how long does your cleaner stay?
Skirting boards, banisters, window sills, door would be great too.

Do Tesco worry about asking shelf stackers to stack shelves??
You are the potential employer. Feel free to ask. Any potential 'staff' can say no!!

MilkCereal · 22/10/2021 20:59

True thank you . I'll ask

Ours does:

  • bathrooms/toilets
  • hoover everywhere
  • clean kitchen inc floor
  • ironing
  • dusting
Anything else we ask her to eg once a month clean oven, clean blinds, gradually work through cleaning kitchen cupboards.
RussianSpy101 · 22/10/2021 21:10

She does 3 hours. Maybe going round the house and write a list of the things you would like doing. It’s much easier when you’re looking at it.

I'm a cleaner.

This morning I spent a lot of time decobwebbing a period property (big job this time of year!). Overall I clean showers, baths, sinks, loos, vacuum, mop, tidy, dust, move furniture to clean behind, wash internal windows, take cushions off sofas and chairs to vacuum, take things off shelves to dust/clean, fill/empty dishwasher, strip and change beds, do laundry, cut fresh flowers from the garden, clean bathroom and kitchen cupboards, go through kitchen cupboards/fridge and throw out stale food, sort recycling, empty bins, iron, clean skirtings, doors and door frames etc etc. I don't clean ovens. I've currently got a bit of a project on cleaning some brass for one client that they won't notice till it's a bit further on.

I thought I was pretty average until I started reading the cleaning threads on here! They've been a real boost to my confidence. Smile

I feel your pain! I have quite a few of these, and the cobwebs stick to the beams like glue. Bastards.
