Right to work documents, anything else I can use?

I apparently have to prove I have the right to work in the UK – I do, I was born here, did my education here and have always lived in either England or Wales so I have the right to work here but work want proof.

I sent my birth and marriage certificates off to the DVLA in September to renew my driving license (they asked for these I didn’t just send them) and haven’t had them back yet when I called the DVLA I got no answer but will keep trying.

Work will only accept those documents. I have an NI number, bank account and have been in receipt of child benefit and Universal Credit since my 7yo was born in 2014. The job centre have said they’re happy to write a letter stating that the DWP has verified that I have the right to live and work in the UK and they have seen documents to verify this but work won’t accept it and want to see the original documents.

They haven’t offered up another solution they just keep demanding to see these documents. I’ve ordered more copies from the GRO but been told that could take 45 days and I only have until 1st November to prove it (I ordered from GRO at start of October).

I don’t have a passport, my last one expired when I was 14 (now 30) and I never renewed it.

Could I lose my job over this? I’m so scared I might. I've only worked for the company since Jan 2021.

You can use an expired passport for right to work.

They have said they can only accept passports that are less than 2 years out of date and are an adults 10 year passport not a childs 5 year one so even if they'd accept it out of date it's a childs passport not an adults.

The Gov.uk website says you can get copies sooner if you pay
"If you need the certificate sooner, you can use the priority service for £35. It’ll be sent the next working day if you order by 4pm."

It's £35 per certificate, I don't really have £70 to spare, I don't even earn that much some weeks.
