Duvet closure without buttons

Weird question but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a duvet cover brand that uses press stud closures instead of buttons.

The buttons drive me mad and fall off and it seems as though everyone has moved to buttons.

Anyone got any advice of where I can find duvets with closures that aren't buttons?

I got one from Matalan with press studs but that was about a year ago now. It was cheap too but has washed well!

Ikea kids ones don't have anything. I got ones from our supermarket with a zip - MIL told me never to dry them at high temp else the zip will break, followed her advice and they've lasted 7 years so far. Can you get someone to sew some on?

delilahbucket · 19/10/2021 11:17

The cheaper ones tend to use snap fasteners like Asda. I find them more of a pain, they often don't snap shut. IKEA have some that tie fasten but they only fit IKEA duvets. Never had buttons fall off bedding though 🤔

My Asda ones have press studs - much prefer them to my more expensive covers which have buttons

TurnUpTurnip · 19/10/2021 11:24

Most of mine are press studs from Argos....

HotMess21 · 19/10/2021 11:25

I have duvet covers with zip closures, which I found on Amazon. They have a reasonable range with this type of closure.

Ruralbliss · 19/10/2021 11:26

My IKEA duvet cover has no fastenings just an opening

My White Stuff duvet cover has fabric ties which I like very much.

Choccyp1g · 19/10/2021 11:28

Hotel ones often have just a flap, like "housewife" pillowcases. I wish they were all like that, so that when you get hot in the night you can turn the duvet around to get a cool patch without getting a button stuck in your neck.

I hate the buttons too, the buttonholes always seem to be just slightly too small which make them very fiddly to open and close. I have a couple of Asda sets which have press studs, much easier to fasten and can be taken off quickly.

Just see some poppers on??Confused

catfunk · 19/10/2021 11:33

H&M and ikea

OccultGnuAsWell · 19/10/2021 11:35

I irrationally hate having to button a duvet cover.

Press studs have a high failure rate in this house as well.

I wonder about Velcro but on a practical level I don't think it would last very long.

Magnets perhaps?

Or on the cover have a larger version of the fold over bit on a pillow case so the duvet just gets tucked in? There must be a better way.

AppleButter · 19/10/2021 11:39

Some h&m ones have a very practical extra foldover flap, instead of buttons. And two little slots at the top corners where you can grasp the quilt/duvet inside and pull it into the corners. Fantastic.

ItsNotNormalLove · 19/10/2021 11:39

Zips seem like the obvious better way to me. Never had a zipped one but am going to track some down when I replace my bedding next.

babouchette · 19/10/2021 11:41

Muji do zipped ones.

Squirrelblanket · 19/10/2021 11:53

Mine are zipped and from IKEA.

I dry them at a high temp and they are fine.

FinallyHere · 19/10/2021 12:12

The press stud ones tend to get warped over time so I have switched over entirely to buttons.

The John Lewis / Croft ones use a turn down inside so the buttons are entirely invisible. Some takes makes 'em difficult to find which is a small price to pay.

Pikamoo · 19/10/2021 12:20

I've got a nice zipped one from muji.

gildalily · 19/10/2021 22:17

Thanks! I hadn't even thought of a zipped one. Looks like I'm off to Asda initially then. Thanks all.

Dunelm do zipped ones. They are great.

ponkydonkey · 19/10/2021 22:39

White company duvet covers have buttons, they don't fall off and I've had mine for over 10 years and they are still lovely. Also holes fit the buttons

SavoyCabbage · 19/10/2021 22:42

I've just looked at a M&S one which was zipped.

It was Snoopy though which may not be your taste!

MoreThanAnOffDay · 19/10/2021 23:18

Asda never had a popper failure ever in my life. I must be lucky!

SHAR0N · 19/10/2021 23:20

My Ikea ones have popppers.
