What's post-menopause like?

Do things get better /easier post menopause?

Does the long list of symptoms significantly ease off just to be replaced by others or is it actually easier all round?

My mum's shit to talk about this sort of thing and most friends are still in their 40s so not quite there yet.

I'm 62, but my periods didn't stop until I was 59 1/2! It's great not having periods, PMT, feeling knackered and also having to take pads everywhere just in case a period starts.

What has surprised me is how much stronger i feel mentally, especially when dealing with other people! I used to be a real people pleaser, nowadays i dont give a monkeys what others think of me, its really liberating!

I know. It's weird but brilliant!

I had a very easy menopause twenty years ago; I was just delighted to stop menstruating. However, like @MissyB1, it did pretty much kill my sex drive, which was hard for my lovely DP.
