Please don't say nitty bloody gritty. I have a nitty bloody gritty. Comb and conditioner. It's not bloody working. I must be missing one each time.
What's the best killing solution on the market atm?
Full marks too greasy.
Hedrin?
Thanks in advance

@BluebellsGreenbells

We use vosine head lice shampoo

That’s just a bottle of expensive shampoo with tea tree oil added

Better buying the tea tree oil and adding it to normal shampoo or use neat or in a water spray.

Maybe but the kids like it and it seems to work 🤷‍♀️

Two other things to bear in mind when trying to eradicate head lice:
Chlorine bleach can decrease the efficacy of chemical-based head lice treatments, so avoid trips to the swimming baths for 2-3 days either side of treatments and rinse hair after swimming before using the treatments.
You also need to ensure that conditioner is removed from hair before using head lice treatments, otherwise it won’t ‘stick’ to the hair.
If you are using chemical treatments make sure they are left on the head for the length of time recommended- i.e. 12 hours not ‘overnight’ which might actually be less that 12 hours.

I used to use Hedrin and tea tree oil. Every single night. The only comfort is as the children get older they are not cuddling so much so you dont get nits

We are in the midst of this. Not sure what to suggest as we are in the middle of trying something that might be working but who knows?

We are slathering okay loads of coconut oil in the evening, sleeping on it (with towels obviously) then combing in morning before washing out. That’s on the weekend and then a standard heavy conditioner comb through mid week. I think the key is keeping it up for a few weeks to catch any which hatch.

Like I said, seems to be working, but who knows? Maybe I’ll report back in a few weeks.

We just eradicated the fuckers – and DD and I were both CRAWLING, I could see them rampaging around with bare eyes, no head torch or combing needed – with the following multi-pronged attack:

• First thing am full head application of Hedrin leave-in mousse on me, DD, DP (TV and chocolate buttons help)
• Same-day boil wash of ALL bedding, towels, soft toys, blankets, etc
• Same day mega hoover and mop inc dismantling sofas and turning over rugs and zapping every stray fallen hair in the joint
• Last thing nitty-gritty comb out for fucking HOURS, cleaning comb on a white tissue to see my victims, and regularly dunking it in hot water and cleaning prongs with a toothbrush
• Wash hair vigorously – we left the Hedrin on from about 7am to 7pm
• Repeat this process exactly a week later
•Examine child’s head ruthlessly forever
• Frequently clean brushes etc in hot soapy water and leave them in there for 15 mins
• Shout “Bastards!” a lot out of child’s earshot
